A blunt is a roll with cannabis inside a cigar or blunt wrap. The wraps are made out of tobacco, which can add a little buzz and energy to your high.

A bong is a filtration device used for smoking cannabis flower. The base of a bong is filled with water which cools the smoke as it passes through. It typically produces a heavier high, which is why it is a favoured method of consumption.

Bubble Hash

Bubble hash is a concentrate made by using ice water, agitation, and a sieve. It is a powder-like substance, similar to kief, and its colour can range from blonde to red, to black. For added potency, sprinkle some bubble hash into your joint or over your bowl.

Budder is concentrated cannabis with a smooth consistency, similar to butter. This form of concentrate is most commonly used for dabbing.

Cannabinoids are compounds found in cannabis. The most notable cannabinoid is THC (full name: phytocannabinoid tetrahydrocannabinol); THC is the primary psychoactive compound in weed.

CBD is for short Cannabidiol, a non-intoxicating cannabinoid found in weed. CBD is the second-most abundant cannabinoid in the cannabis plant after THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). Extensive scientific research and mounting anecdotal accounts from patients and physicians highlight CBD’s potential as a treatment for a wide range of maladies, including (but not limited to):

  • Autoimmune diseases (inflammation, rheumatoid arthritis)
  • Neurological conditions (Alzheimer’s, dementia, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, stroke, traumatic brain injury)
  • Metabolic syndrome (diabetes, obesity)
  • Neuropsychiatric illness (autism, ADHDPTSD, alcoholism)
  • Gut disorders (colitis, Crohn’s)
  • Cardiovascular dysfunction (atherosclerosis, arrhythmia)
  • Skin disease (acne, dermatitis, psoriasis)

Dabs are portions of cannabis concentrates that are vaporized using a dab rig, through a process called dabbing. A dab can be used to refer to a form of concentrate such as budder, crumble, sauce, shatter, or wax. These concentrated forms of cannabis are much more potent than marijuana flower.

Dab Rig

A dab rig is a pipe designed for vaporizing concentrates, sometimes referred to as an oil rig or vapor rig.

Distillate is a cannabis extract in which the final product has been systematically stripped of all materials and compounds except one specific cannabinoid.

Distillate is a potent oil that can be used to dab, vaporize, or even as an ingredient for edibles, topicals, and other products (most vape pens and cartridges use distillate).

The most common forms of distillate on the market are THC oil and cannabidiol CBD oil.

Edibles are any food that is infused with cannabinoids (THC or CBD). Popular edibles include cannabis-infused candies, chocolates, and baked goods.

An extract is a specific type of cannabis concentrate. Extracts are unique because they are made exclusively through the use of a solvent.

The extraction process typically involves combining cannabis plant materials with another chemical or substance (the solvent) in a way that strips all the cannabinoids from the plant matter. The plant matter is then separated from the cannabinoid-infused solvent, and the solvent is evaporated away. What’s left behind is a mass of highly-concentrated cannabinoids.

Most weed extracts must be consumed by dabbing. Some common cannabis extracts are: crumble, wax, shatter, budder, live resin, and tincture.

Flower is the smokable part of the cannabis plant. Other common names for flower include: weed, bud, nug, ganja, marijuana, and dank.

Hash, short for Hashish, is a cannabis concentrate that’s typically inhaled or smoked via pipe, bong, vaporizor or rolled into a joint. It is is made by removing the trichome glands from a cannabis plant and repeatedly compressing them to form a hardened, solid piece.

Hash is arguably one of the oldest types of concentrates, with written texts referring to hashish dating as far back as the 12th and 13th centuries. The varying look and feel of hashish is closely tied to its history and the method used to make it.

Hybrid is a category of weed strains that are a mix of the two main classes of cannabis “indica” and “sativa”. Hyrbid flowers offer a more balanced high between mind and body effects, and are found to be ideal for creativity and productivity.

Indica is a classification of cannabis known for the relaxing and therapeutic qualities of its body high. This category of weed can offer relief to those suffering from chronic pain, promote sleepiness, increase appetite, and reduce nausea. Indica strains are also associated couch lock (indica —> in-da-couch), for that reason indica is commonly used in the evenings.
Live Resin
Live resin is a terpene-rich cannabis concentrate usually used by dabbing or vaping. It is often a darker yellow colour and has more malleability than other concentrates.
Mom (MoM/MOM)
Mom is an acronym for mail-order marijuana. We want to be your plug, but you can call us mom.
Cannabis oils are concentrates that are created by extracting cannabinoids like THC and CBD from cannabis plants. Most oils you find at a dispensary are created by a process called “chemical extraction.” These methods use a solvent to extract cannabinoids (along with other beneficial compounds like terpenes and flavonoids) and add them to carriers like hemp oil, MCT oil, or Argan oil.
Cannabis oil has high concentrations of THC and CBD making it ideal for a broad range of medical conditions like cancer, chronic pain, anxiety, depression, and more. It releases pleasure hormones, relaxes the mind, and induces a sense of calm and relaxation.
Using a THC oil will produce a high that recreational cannabis users seek, whereas using a CBD oil will not produce a psychoactive effect, and it is typically used for sleep remedies and muscle pain.

The most effective way to take weed oil is sublingually, where the oil is placed under the tongue with a dropper and absorbed by the mucous membranes that lead directly to the bloodstream. This method allows it to bypass the stomach, which raises the bioavailability (the number of cannabinoids that make it to your bloodstream when your body absorbs the medicine) and takes about 15 to 30 minutes to kick in.

You can also use oil like you would an edible or a capsule by adding it to food and drinks. While this method is effective, the bioavailability of anything you ingest is generally lower, meaning you won’t absorb the cannabinoids as thoroughly because they must pass through the stomach and the liver. Ingesting cannabis oil can take anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes to kick in depending on things like what you’ve eaten and the speed of your metabolism.

Sativa is a classification of marijuana strains. Sativa strains are generally lighter in colour than indica strains and offer a stimulating head-high that gives consumers a buzz. This cerebral high is associated with energy, exercise, and euphoria, for this reason, sativa is usually consumed in the daytime, or before a night out.

Shatter is a brittle, glass-like cannabis extract named for its breakability. It has a glassy appearance, tends to break, or shatter, like glass when snapped in two. The colouring of shatter can range from bright, honey-like amber to a darker yellow shade like corn oil, and the physical texture can vary from extremely brittle to a taffy-like snap-and-pull quality.
Like other concentrates, shatter is a favorite among dabbing enthusiasts. It can also be used by adding it to dried flower in a joint, or vaped in an extract-specific vaporizer.

Terpenes are what you smell. They are aromatic oils that cover the cannabis plant with it’s distinctive flavours like citrus, berry, mint and pine. They also play a role in differentiating the effects of various marijuana strains. Some terpenes may promote relaxation and stress relief, while others might promote focus and acuity.

THC, short for Tetrahydrocannabinol, is the psychoactive part of cannabis that produces the high associated with smoking weed.

A vape, or vape pen, is a handheld device consisting of a battery attached to a cartridge filled with cannabis concentrate.  With a Vape Pen, concentrates are heated, not burned, and instead of smoke, the output is vapor.

A type of concentrate named primarily for it’s appearance and texture. It often has an opaque appearance and a thick texture. Wax can be used by adding it to a joint, vaporized in wax vape pen, or for more experienced users, dabbed.
